Ovarian reserve

Ovarian reserve is the number of eggs in the ovary. Estimating this reserve is very important while treating infertility, because it shows how many eggs the ovaries can provide for possible fertilization.

The biggest ovarian reserve is in the period after puberty and it decreases with growing age. It is estimated from the level of FSH hormone or by ultrasound ovarian examination.
