MESA is a microsurgical procedure in which we get sperm by aspiration from the epididymis ducts from a 15-mm long cut. The procedure is performed by a urologist under general anesthesia.
MESA is performed when male infertility is caused by an obstruction to the efferent ductules due to infection, birth defect or injury. After MESA, the ICSI method must be used to fertilize the egg.
Carefully follow regular hygiene during convalescence in order to avoid possible complications. Avoid strenuous activities and sports for 3 weeks after surgery.
