Microfluidic Sperm Sorting is a gentle laboratory method of sorting sperm through a one-use chip. This method is built on the principle of natural selection which mimics the environment of the oviducts, where sperm cells are sorted by crossing microbarriers. After using the chip, sorted sperm cells have a better quality, morphology, vitality and mobility. The method increases the likelihood of a successful cycle by up to 25%.
Unlike standard methods, this process eliminates harming the sperm during their treatment and does not require any preliminary alteration of the sperm sample or the using of devices, which reduces the risk of its’ contamination and oxidative stress.
