Hyperstimulation syndrome - OHSS

Hyperstimulation syndrome is one of the possible IVF complications. It is the result of an excessive reaction of the ovaries to stimulating medication. It manifests itself by pressure, tension and pain in the lower abdomen, or by the enlargement of the abdomen, which corresponds to various stages of ovary enlargement by multiple follicles and the accumulation of liquid in the abdominal cavity.
